Quotes to Remember: 006

"Mom, what's the name of this street?"
"Logan, it's Homestead Drive"
"Yea, over there is Homestead Circle."
"Yep, you are right..."
"Homestead Circle is where my new house is."
Shocked, I say, "Right again, Logan. How did you know that?"
Looking at me with a huge grin he says, "It's just magic."

Meet B.O.B.

Meet B.O.B. our stroller. We had a single seating stroller prior to Finley's arrival but as Logan pointed out, "She needs a seat too!" So, along came the double. Logan was very excited about picking which side he had and loves to go on rides with the weather turning warmer. Right now, we typically carry Finley in the sling or backpack because she seems more comfortable that way, but she has ridden next to Logan once and he thought it was pretty awesome. So here it is, our latest and greatest baby gadget - B.O.B.

The Itsy Bitsy Spider

The itsy bitsy spider

went up the water spout,

down came the rain and washed the spider out.

Out came the sun,

and dried up all the rain,

and the itsy bitsy spider went up the spout again.

Yesterday, I walked in Logan's playroom to find him singing yelling the itsy bitsy spider while very meticulously lining up his crayons. I asked him why he was singing so loudly. He informed me that it's Finley's favorite song and since she was in the other room he needed to sing really loud so she could hear him. We agreed, I would just go ahead and bring her in the room so he wouldn't have to sing so loudly. As usual he proceeded to cuddle, hug and kiss her while singing to her, her favorite song.

Finleys Growing: 6 Weeks

It's hard to believe that Finley is already 6 weeks old. I honestly feel like we just got home from the hospital and can't quite figure out where time has gone. I remember this time with Logan flying by as well, but not quite this fast. Maybe it's because we've been so busy with the house and having family and friends visit, etc. or maybe it's just because that's the way life goes? Either way, that exact reason is why I love to keep it all recorded right here -- so I can reminisce and remember all those little details at the click of a button. So here it is, at 6 weeks this is is what Finley is up to:

**Sleeping in her room for the first time (as opposed to in the pack and play in Mom and Dad's room). We moved Logan closer to 4 weeks old -- such a bittersweet move!
**Having more awake time, which means she's batting her big blue eyes at us more often
**Cooing and talking with us
**Holding her head up very well when held over our shoulder
**Sleeping longer stretches now that the doctor isn't having us wake her every 2-3 hours to eat
**Still grunting and snorting quite often (think of a gremlin...seriously)
**Doing tummy time daily and really enjoying it! Logan thinks it's awesome that he can get her to lift her head to the other direction at the sound of his voice

Well, I'm sure there is lots more to come but for now, that's what our little lady of the house is up to these days!

We Might Just Be Crazy

So, yea. We might just be a little crazy. Not only do we have a wild toddler and a fresh out of the oven newborn but we've decided to put our house on the market. Yep, that means keeping the house spotless and being prepared to leave the house for showings at a moments notice (nap time included).

A housing opportunity fell into our laps and it's something we just can't pass up. So, if that means very little sleep and a lot of stress for a few months, we're telling ourselves that it will all be worth it in the end. Yea, we might be a lot crazy now that I'm actually typing this out, considering the house we're purchasing needs a full rehab. Yea, it will all be worth it in the end...

Right?? Please tell me, we're right??

Cruisin'

Logan loves his bike, and with the weather getting warmer it has become even more of a big deal. He always wants to go for a bike ride!

On this particular ride, he clearly thought he was hot stuff. He started leaning back really far with his arms straitened and locked. I asked him what he was doing. Duh, obviously he was cruisin'. I have no idea where he learned that one!

It Was Just An Estimate

Today, April 4 was Finley's estimated due date. To even think that today would be the first day we were able to meet one another is just crazy. We've only known each other for four weeks but it's already nearly impossible to remember life without her.

We waited so patently for her arrival for so many months and then when her unexpected arrival came, we were overwhelmed with feelings of excitement but also worry for the unknown.

Now, knowing how healthy and amazing she is, I never would have wanted to miss out on these four weeks. And ya know, she seems pretty happy with the turnout too...happy estimated birthday Finley!
